About Salt City Spin

Salt City Spin is an independent online zine for Salt Lake City and the Wasatch Front, put together like the best record store in town: loud, a little scrappy and full of good stuff. Every day we spin the stories Salt Lake has on repeat, the fry sauce, food trucks and new tables, gigs and galleries, powder days and canyon trails, and the indie businesses putting the city on the map. We also keep a free list of the radio stations broadcasting around the valley.

Salt City Spin is a reading site. It is not a radio station, a record label or a record store, and nothing here is broadcast. We just love the crackle of a good record and the thrill of local radio, so the liner notes on our home page list the stations that are actually on the air.

Where the records come from

Our headlines come in through a licensed news API (Mediastack) plus Google News and Bing News, and Salt Lake newsrooms always go to the top of the stack. Drop the needle on any headline and it opens on the newsroom that reported it, so the full story is right there.

B-Sides

B-Sides are announcements from businesses and organizations, shared exactly as supplied and always labelled Press Release.
